Water/Waste Manager at Driftwood

The Water/Waste Manager is responsible the managing water and waste regulatory program activities for development and operating facilities and developing associated standards and plans. This position supports the Operating facilities to develop site specific procedures.
Essential Functions
The Water/Waste Manager is responsible for performing a wide array of tasks. Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform as Company leader in federal and state water and waste management permitting and compliance requirements; including but not limited to the following regulatory areas:
  • Louisiana Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
  • SPCC and FRP
  • RCRA
  • CERCLA, SARA, and EPCRA and
  • State-level Solid Waste Rules
  • Louisiana Department of Health
  • Assist with development of related Company HSE standards for regulatory and environmental compliance and assurance
  • Communicate with appropriate personnel at waste and water agencies to obtain guidance and ensure timely processing of requests
  • Lead water and waste compliance recordkeeping and reporting
  • Provide technical support for Terminal and Pipeline HSE staff in their compliance roles
  • Support and lead internal compliance reviews and audits
  • Assist in the preparation of compliance and project budgets for corporate and operating assets
  • Develop and manage HSE staff, conduct performance management reviews
Language / Education
  • B.S. in engineering, environmental or related discipline
  • 8+ years’ experience
  • Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and local requirements for LNG Terminals and natural gas pipelines
  • Must have site experience across all project phases with an emphasis on commissioning
  • Strong knowledge of water and waste regulatory requirements; including but no limited to the following:
  • Louisiana Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
  • SPCC and FRP
  • RCRA
  • CERCLA, SARA, and EPCRA and
  • State-level Solid Waste Rules; and
  • Experience with compliance management systems to track and trend compliance tasks and commitments
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and able to effectively communicate technical information
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective networks with both internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office products, with emphasis in Excel.
Travel one day a week to the Houston office will be required

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Must be able to work in hot and humid environments, outdoors and lift 50 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, reach, push and pull.
This position is EXEMPT under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
